Kitten saved!!! A must read!!!
Current mood: cheerful

The got the kitten out yesterday afternoon sept 29. I am going this mourning to pick it up. They told me it was Ferrell, I will try to rehabilitate it and find a home for the poor guy. It is a 6 week old kitten, which shouldn..t be too hard given the publicity. I just hope I can get it back to reality before I give it away. I don..t want to drop a crazy scared kitten on any ones lap, so I will do what I can. I do work tonight and would appreciate a kitten sitter while I am at work. I don..t want to leave it in an empty apartment for 12 hrs. You can just meet me at tgi Fridays and I will pick it up after I get off work. Just drop me a message or call me if you have my number...
Me and the "Irony" thank everyone for their help... Mr. Deeds

My comment...

Oh my God!! What a great story with such a happy outcome!

This reminds me how I saved one of our mama cats.

We lived in GA at the time, and had huge tall pine trees in the back yard. This was in 95. She got stuck WAY UP THERE! I called fire dept and others, and no one would help. She had a litter of kittens that were not quite weaned yet.

The neighbor across the street was a painter, so he had some scaffolding things, so I had the wild idea to stack them up as far as we could.

We were still a good 10 feet away from the cat, so I got a ladder, and attached a basket to it and put her some cat food in the basket.

Since I had to hold the long ladder closer to the bottom is was so hard to steady it, but I managed to do so and got the ladder right under the limb where she was. Someone else was holding a couple of her kittens so she could hear them, and after about 20 seconds of calling her and coaxing her, she jumped into the basket. It took EVERYTHING I had to hold that steady when she did that, because I almost lost my balance. Remember, I was way up on the scaffolding myself.

Thankfully, I kept it steady and I eased the ladder down, on the edge rung by rung, until I got her out of the basket and handed her down to someone lower on the scaffolding and finally got myself down.

It was a spectacle that a lot of the neighborhood was there. I'll never forget that as long as I live.
