GENERAL CAFFEINE DETOXIFICATION
1. If you take more than 200 mg. a day of caffeine, consider taking a break from it, and clearing your body of caffeine. If you are pregnant and have high caffeine intake, detox under the guidance of a health-care practitioner.
2. After that, avoid the daily use of caffeine. For most people, it can still be tolerated and enjoyed as long as it does not become a daily habit.
3. Consider the Detox Diet or a general alkaline diet consisting mainly of vegetables, both steamed and as salads, fruits, plus some whole grains, and a few nuts and seeds.
4. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of pure water daily, or more especially if you exercise or sweat.
5. Keep fiber intake high to help clear the colon and support detoxification (make sure the bowels and digestion is in good condition).
6. Supplement your nutrition with vitamins and minerals (outlined below).
7. If headaches occur, as they commonly do in the first few days of detox, increase your intake of water, Vit. C, and minerals, and use white willow bark herb to ease headache pain and withdrawal.
8. Other herbs, particularly as teas, can be taken to support the body or as coffee substitutes.
