Body:
RED FOOD- Speeds up your circulation when your hands and feet get cold, or for mucus and phlegm in your throat. Acts as a catalyst for ionization and breaks up the ferric salt crystals. Egocentric, brings your consciousness back into yourself. Promotes growth. Physical, alkaline, heat, yang, fire, life. Tomatoes, cherries, yam, eggplant, red cabbage, watermelon, strawberry, raspberries, cranberry, radish, soybean, whole wheat, rye, peppermint, cayene, rhubarb, and red kidney beans.
ORANGE FOOD- Anti-spasmatic, for pains and cramps of any kind. Rebuilds lung cell membrane tissues. Good for lungs in polluted areas. It may help to heal malignant growths as well as tumors. Provides new ideas for mental concepts. Strengthens the etheric body, the energy around you. Provides elasticity for skin and bones. Gives you joy, gaiety, and warmth. Stimulates milk production for breast feeding. Vitality. Orange, carrot, calcium, sesame, pumpkin, dates, walnuts, apricot, butternut squash, cumin, ginger, ginseng, orange lentils, apple cider vinegar, and molasses.
Nerves:
YELLOW FOOD- Motor stimulant, it gets you going faster than coffee. Provides positive magnetic currents. Makes you happy. Strenthens the nerves and aids the brain. Good for digestion and constipation. Apple, peach, banana, papaya, mango, corn, butter, yellow squash, grapefruit, buckwheat, oats, cinnamon, turmeric, mung beans, and chickpeas. Lemon, lime, and pineapple are considered half yellow, half green.
GREEN FOOD- A cleanser and bactericide. A natural tranquilizer, it mellows one out. Controls the metabolism, the growth and distruction of the body. Dialates the capillaries and provides a sensation of warmth. For headcold and gray hair. Neutral/Balanced. Wisdom. Millet, brown rice, all green vegetables, weeds, grasses, brewer's yeast, garlic, olive oil, yogurt, B-complex vitamins, and avocadoes. (Appearently Milk is Green (from the grass it eats, if its eating grass!) As well as Mothers Milk! No wonder why I like Green Tea ice-cream <smile>)
Head:
BLUE FOOD- For mental work. For headaches, stiff neck, sore throats. Builds antibodies to fight infections. Spiritual, yin, acid, cool. Makes you consciousness oriented. Blueberry, plum, grapes, celery, parsnip, asparagus, nuts, marjoram, cloves, camomile, asparagus, kelp, mushrooms, and spirulina.
INDIGO FOOD- Linked to the third-eye (brow chakra), help to bring focus to our lives, so we can stand back and see things more clearly. Indigo light has a very sedating effect on our lower mind, inducing a state similar to anesthesia. This distachment promotes a connection with our finer qualities, bringing out our ability as human beings to act with compassion, discretion and integrity. More Yin. Blackberries, mulberries, black figs, prunes, licorice root, vanilla bean, olives, truffles, soy sauce, tamari, and some seaweeds.
VIOLET FOODS- Most yin. Helps to stimulate our creativity by heightening our perception, developng a spirit of idealism and understanding of our spiritual nature. Violet provides nourishment for all those cells in the upper brain, and links to intuition and spiritual perception. Essential for those who meditate, or are working with subtle energies. Violet foods contain the energies of both the blue and the red rays, and the synergy of the two colors produces a color of its own quality. On the one hand they are energizing, but on the other they are cooling and refreshing, true mind foods. It provides energy without overheating our system. Dewberries, elderberries, huckleberries, passion fruit, lavender, thyme, beetroot tops, Chinese water-chestnut, endives, Jerusalem artichokes, kahlrabi, bamboo shoots, purple cabbage, sweet potatoes, and turnips.
One should try to eat balanced between the Yin and Yang foods (i.e. red with violet foods.) Yellow, Green, and Blue are more equal.
Processing and change in freshness affects color energy. Cooking and refined foods changes the color, aftificial coloring affects balance.
